Integrations

Sending to Honk is one web request to one endpoint, POST /v1/messages, so a shell script, a workflow tool or a few lines in your app can do it. For your own code, the official libraries add retries, an idempotency key on every send, and helpers for the Honk scale. They’re all MIT-licensed and on GitHub.

Without writing code

These tools can send to Honk without code of your own. WordPress has an official plugin, Honk Me, now in review for the WordPress plugin directory; for the others, each guide shows a setup that works today.

Libraries and tools

Without a library

All it takes is one HTTPS request. This is the whole API for sending:

Terminal
curl -sS https://honk-me.app/v1/messages \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $HONK_KEY" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: backup-$(date +%Y%m%d)" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "title": "Backup failed",
    "message": "pg_dump exited with 1",
    "severity": "long",
    "group_key": "db/backup",
    "event_type": "problem"
  }'
# → 202 {"id":"msg_…","status":"accepted","duplicate":false,"received_at":"…"}

The web app writes the code for you

In the web app, Integrations generates ready-to-paste code for your project in each of these languages, and can create an ingestion key to go with it.
