Changelog

What’s new in Honk, newest first. Each library keeps its own detailed changelog on GitHub.

  1. Sign in with a 6-digit code

    • No more sign-in links: Honk emails you a 6-digit code that works once and expires after 10 minutes. There are still no passwords.
    • iOS can fill in the code from Mail, right above the keyboard. Sign-in and invitation emails are now in HTML and in your language.
  2. Honk on Apple Watch

    • What needs your attention and recent messages, with each group’s details.
    • Mark handled with Double Tap, plus Mark read and Mute 1h, on groups and on notifications.
    • Complications for the watch face, and the latest incident in the Smart Stack while something urgent is live.
    • Your iPhone signs the watch in for you, and the watch then stays signed in on its own.
  3. Widgets, Live Activities and Control Center

    • Home Screen widgets in small, medium and large, with Mark handled and Mute 1h on incidents.
    • Live Activities for incidents at the level you choose, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. They update while Honk is closed, until they show Recovered.
    • Control Center controls: Mute everything for an hour, and Open Attention.
  4. Five languages

    • The web app, Honk for iPhone and Apple Watch, emails and notifications are now in English, Romanian, Spanish, French and German.
  5. Libraries for six languages, a CLI and an n8n node

    • Official libraries (0.1.0) for Node.js, PHP and Laravel, Go, Swift, Kotlin and Java, and Rust, all with the same retries, idempotency keys and errors.
    • The honk-me CLI for shell scripts, cron and CI, with prebuilt binaries.
    • The n8n-nodes-honk community node, version 0.1.1.
    • Published on npm, Packagist, the Go proxy, Swift Package Manager and crates.io. Maven Central comes next.
  6. Images, on-device AI and the Honk scale

    • Events can carry an image (image_url), shown in the inbox and in notifications.
    • On iPhone, Apple Intelligence writes summaries, short titles and categories on the device.
    • Severity levels got their horn names: Light honk, Beep-beep, Loud honk, Long honk and Blast.
    • A Trash for each person, and an inbox on iPhone that works like Mail.
  7. Honk 1.0

    • The first release: the server, the web app (installable on Android) and the iPhone app, with one endpoint for events, groups and episodes, pushes with a cooldown, digests, quiet hours, rules and workspaces.
